The Disintegration project.

I’ve been following Chrysti on her blog, and she recently offered this journal as a prize in a give away. Scroll down for a look at the video.

I’ve also been following Rice on her blog about journals and not having to be perfect

And then, I found this post on Seth’s blog.

So I added it all up and jumped on the disintegration project band wagon. It’s pretty simple, make a paper bundle and leave it out in the arms of nature to see what happens to it.P2060105

My first bundle looked like this

Except then LIFE got in the way, and I had to go and clean motel units…

Funny thing about mindless activity, you are suddenly free to do a bit of uninterrupted thinking. So there I was thinking about wrecking journals, and giving stuff away, and what would happen to my disintegration bundle, and all kinds of other stuff.

And then I thought.  What would a bundle look like that had been out side for years…Who would have put it there? and what was it for?

Perhaps it was a wish, or a prayer…or a spell. Yes that was it! A spell.

An earth spell. What would it have in it? Perhaps it would be sealed with wax with a rune carved on it…

It was all I could do not to drop the sheets and towels and run off to make a spell bundle immediately.

But then I moved on to cleaning showers and kept on thinking, with water swirling around the drain…why stop at one spell…why not one for each element? Air, Fire Water and Earth. I could hang the air bundle in a tree, place the fire bundle in the fire pit, (no fire at the moment, as a fire ban is in place and will be until Autumn) a water bundle in the lake…and the earth bundle in the garden, 1/2 buried. So many possibilities.

So hopefully my new bundles will take form tonight, and I’ll take photos of them in their new homes tomorrow…After cleaning yet more motel units.

What a wonderful idea Corrine! I love that you are doing different bundles for different elements.

Oh, New Zealand! That was the best trip I've taken . . .

what a great idea Corinne, I have buried cotton fabric and wrapped it around rusty metal and it comes out fabulous, but I love your spiritual themes, can't wait to see the result.
